Seeking and searching was I,
For where’s the kingdom of God,
Every breath was a thrill,
For the seeking made a wanderer,
Out of me.

Running was I to find God,
Sometimes here and sometimes there,
It went on for years and years.
And I never grew tired of it,
For the journey long,
And distance too far,
Destination nowhere,
And seeking an old habit.

Until one day,

I somehow,
Buy thy divine blessings,
Reached his gate,
The unimaginable occurred,
For now all needed was,
To walk the stairs,
And reach His abode,
Suddenly, my heart stopped,
I trembled,
If it really was his abode,
Then all seeking had to stop,
All wandering had to vanish,
All old habits completely shed.

I looked around,
No one was found,
I stepped a little back,
And ran fast,
So fast,
That never saw that way again,
And again life was a thrill,
A wandering,
For I had something to seek,
Something to run for,
The same old habits,
To run and run again.

Now I know that,
The journey to his abode,
Was boring,
Hard,
And a struggle,
To shatter the self,
Although I settled,
To deceive myself,
And others,
About what a great seeker was I.

P.S: Thank you and deep gratitude for reading my poems. It’s a newly discovered talent in me, maybe not rhyming and good enough, but I found poetry is the best medium to express our emotions. And that’s the reason I started writing them, it frees up my mind, relaxes me, and the creative expression is deeply fulfilling. I mostly write with my feelings and experience, and not to fill the word limit, so have to include these lines in every poem as they are shorter than one one-fifty words to publish. Accept my gratitude (although I don’t have much).
