There are a million shades of you
Of which I know a few
You bend air to water
water to chance
that even the Gods can’t change
bows to your indefatigable will

There’s magic in there
somewhere
in that pristine mind of yours
where silence dwells long
a great power burns
a quiet bonfire by the shore

In the hush waters of your consciousness
who lives
I’ve often wondered
is it you as I know
or a quiet inscrutable force
a face ancient as the Gods

In partaking of your grace
we’ve only taken from you
a healing a blessing
and countless there have been
yet the reservoir of your wine
only burgeons with time

The light of your speech
is the crescent on her crown
a mighty wind blows
should you decide to change course
it is easy to please you
although not with words or mere deeds

A heart that longs for the divine
will find some favour
the vulnerable and the poor too
are cared for
the sweet hue of devotion
earns just as much merit

What truly moves you though
is living for more than ourselves
You are the saviour of those who save
not just themselves
in a considerate heart You live
like fish in water

Oh who you are
and what you do is legendary
shrouded in mystery
those glimpses I catch so often
history alone will demystify
the epic legend of Om Swami

Or maybe it shall fail too
for so many hues in nature
more so when it comes to you
in the depths of my soul alone I see
You are Hari’s reflection on earth
His power and glory are yours

O great master you’ve granted this life
You are its beauty and its heart
in your holy presence
the spirit finds peace
You are the new legs of my thinking
the baby feet of my worship
