About five days ago my brother came down with fever (he caught the virus from one of our relatives since we live in a joint family), my father had fever the next day, and my mother joined the party as well, the day after! I was the only one left now and I thought, I would somehow manage to bypass this stupid virus. Needless to say, I got the virus too.

On Friday night, at around 3am I started shivering and I knew these were the first signs of the upcoming fever. Ordinarily, I would’ve popped a pill by then and had a good night’s sleep. But as I’ve already mentioned, both my parents were sick and I didn’t want to wake them up in the middle of the night and ask for medicine. So I decided to hold out till the morning. I fell asleep after a while only to wake up to a terrible body ache. Every part of my body from head to toe, was aching severely. I called my mom, she came into my room and gave me the required medicine. Thanks to the advancement in medical sciences, the medicine worked like magic and the aches completely vanished within the next 30 minutes. I was so grateful to have a body without aches, it’s true that we don’t understand the value of things we have unless we lose it!

At this point, we were pretty sure that we had Covid, we got ourselves tested and sure enough the positive results came in yesterday. Thankfully none of us have very severe conditions. However Covid has left me feeling drained all the time, I have just been lying in my bed for the last 2 days and doing nothing else. The only time I get out of bed, is to eat or go to the washroom. I sometimes read an ebook (or write a blog, like now) if I’m feeling upto it but mostly, I just lie like a corpse. I’m hoping this ordeal would end within a week.

Just a heads up to everyone reading this, taking steam or drinking warm water with lemon doesn’t prevent Covid. I was completely vaccinated by June 2021 and it still didn’t stop the virus(I’m not saying vaccines don’t work, I’m just saying vaccines do not provide 100% protection). Wearing masks, social distancing and sanitizers are our only saviour. But then again, there’s only so much we can do to keep ourselves safe in the middle of a pandemic.

Anyway, I would like to end this blog here. Thank you for reading this and giving me your precious time.  See you soon 🙂

P.S: I’m fine now. No need to worry about me. I only have mild fever and an ever persistent headache.
