Seeing Reeta in a wheelchair, if I say I was shocked, it would be an understatement! I had discharged her 2 days post delivery and she had gone home walking albeit with difficulty. Considering the difficulty she had faced during delivery, she was expected to have pains and aches.
I told her to lie down on the examination table so that I could proceed with examination and find out the probable reason. To my utter disbelief, Reeta was not able to walk!
I tried to think of all the possibilities. With lot of difficulty and support of 2 to 3 staff, we made her lie down. My mind raced, could it be some kind of neurological problem post delivery like paresis (weakness) in lower limbs?
Let’s find out!
After doing her gynaec check up,I did not find anything noteworthy. Stiches were healing well. In lying down position, she could move her limbs, though while doing so she did experience quite a lot of discomfort in her lower part of abdomen and pubic area. Reeta told me that she struggled to take even a step or two and those movements too were agonising.
Now Swamiji was my only hope for the way out. 🙏
I prayed to Him and within minutes I found myself calling our orthopaedic surgeon. The kind doctor came immediately. After doing a thorough check up, he advised some X rays. He ruled out the neurological problem, which helped my anxiety settle a bit.
What next?
After the reports, the doctor diagnosed that Reeta had diastasis of pubic symphysis. (joint where both pelvic bones join together) During delivery to make way for the baby, that joint had developed a gap! Since the routine alignment of joint was changed, she was not able to walk 🙁 or walked with great difficulty!
OMG! I realized that walking is something so inbuilt, just like breathing, that we are not even aware when we walk all through the day. How we take it for granted! Here Reeta was having trouble in taking even a few steps! How grateful we should be for each and every single thing in our life.🙏
Though the diagnosis was done and treatment was started, Sir (Orthopaedic surgeon) predicted that Reeta would take at least 2 to 3 months for recovery. My heart cried for her.😔 I thought how would she go about doing her daily activities! How she would tend to her baby with so much stress?
It dawned on me that this less space could have been the reason for the tears in vagina. In the upper part, it caused her joint to have a gap and in the lower part, the vagina got torn.
Now I continued to treat her along with the orthopaedic surgeon. Within my heart, I wanted to do something more for her to lessen her agony.
So I did something beautiful 😍
After my chanting, every single day I prayed to Sri Hari for her speedy recovery. 🙏 I did that every time I prayed.
And Reeta recovered miraculously!
The doctor had given her 2 to 3 months for recovery and here she was, just after 2 weeks from diagnosis, up and about, walking merrily! My joy knew no bounds!
I thanked Sri Hari and Swamiji with all my heart and do that every day.
Reeta is still recovering and enjoying motherhood with her bundle of joy 😊
Let us all rejoice in this miracle shown by Bhagwan and soak in His love. ❤️
All glories to Swamiji. 🙏
