As I opened the tap and water streamed out, I imagined hearing the faint strains of a music…a music ages old, the song of a little drop of water…
The little drop which was trapped for long years in the ice and snow of big glaciers on a high mountain, which laughed with joy on attaining freedom…
The little drop then trickled down in a little stream, which sparkled in the sunshine, feeling its warmth, after all those years of being imprisoned in the cold….
The little drop was exhilarated as the stream gathered speed and force, jumping over the rocks weathering them down…
The little drop was now part of the river, the Mother who washed away the sins of all those who stepped into her. The little drop felt repulsion for all the filth people dumped into the river, but the Mother never complained nor slowed her pace. She just flowed on, carrying the little drop along…
And there, lo behold!!! The ocean wide. The little drop was now part of the big blue ocean, it had lost itself in the ocean till one day….
The sun shone brightly, and the little drop felt itself being plucked out of the ocean, it was now part of a cloud, floating in the sky…
The little drop knew not where it was headed to, it went where the cloud went, blown hither and thither by the wind…
As the cloud grew bigger and bigger, the little drop became too heavy to be carried…
And the little drop fell as rain, over the green forests on a mountain…
The little drop of water found its way to a little stream, which ran down the mountain, jumped over rocks and made its way to a river…
The water from the river, as it was diverted for our use, brought with it this little drop who carried in its heart millions of stories to be told…
It has so much to tell, the stories of places to which it has been, the sights which it has seen, if someone would listen to it…
And hey!!! You know it, don’t you? That 70% of our bodies are composed of water…so just imagine the unique stories that each of these drops of water carry…😊
