This is How Linked In Helped Me!

Many of us are familier with an app called “Linked in”.  For those who have not used it as yet, it is an American business and employment-oriented online service that operates via websites and mobile apps. Launched on May 5th, 2003, the platform is primarily used for professional networking and career development, and allows job seekers to post their CVs and employers to post jobs as well as make offers on the basis of CV’s available on the site. 

We all know the traditional method of searching for jobs. I still remember when I wanted to find my first job, I telephoned a few people known to me  who could possibly help me in finding a suitable placement. I used to see ads of Linked in and hear from a few people about it, but never thought that it could be helpful for a person like me, with no experience. So according to my perspective, we don’t believe in such apps. But, my perspective changes when the situation demands. Situations teach us more and force us to do those things which we never thought could be done in the first place.

So, when I was looking for a change in my job,  I did the same. I called a few people, searched firms on google, and contacted people. This is a method which we adopt more often. Then I thought about Linked in and decided to give it a try. Thus, I searched firms available in Chandigarh, my target location and related people. I was surprised to see that people contacted me back. They offered me placements and within two days I had two jobs in my hands.

I was able to manage each and everything with just a click. I was in the Ashram at that time and we all know that it is not easy to travel from their, so Linked in helped me in exploring and getting in contact with a  few good people and finally find the most suitable job for me.

Hence, I have only one advice to my friends and readers, looking for a job, please create a Linked in profile and kindly keep it updated as you make progress, enhance education and experience, as well as when you change jobs. We never know when opportunity will knock at our door. Try to use these kind of  apps because they can easily make things rosy for us.
