I started my blog writing journey in lockdown on WordPress. At that time, I had no clue about OS. Me. OS.ME came later. When I started, I was not thinking about money, views, readers, etc. I just started, and I had no clue that start would take me here today. Today I am writing my 101st post. Wow, I am so proud of myself. I started writing with the help of Mr. RIS Sidhu uncle ji, and I am deeply grateful to him. He is the one who edited my blogs for so long, and then Sanjana didi. Without these two persons, I could not be writing this post today.
Now, today I am writing without help. I think I can safely say I am an independent writer now. The language was the only barrier for me. Honestly speaking, writing blogs helped me in improving the English language. This is the first thing in my life that made me consistent and disciplined.
So, how do I manage consistency in posting blogs? This is a question I receive most of the time. I will answer that honestly. It is not easy to post every Sunday without a break. Sometimes I don’t even have a theme. Sometimes I traveled, chilled with my friends, attended functions and so on. But you know what keeps me going commitment. I feel people must be waiting for my blog. Sometimes I write in the office whenever I get time, sometimes I write midnight and so on. There was a time when I shared my old posts from WordPress as I had nothing to share in my head. Now I don’t write anywhere else. But I enjoy this. You all keep me going. I cannot thank you enough for the motivation. If you want to write and don’t have anything in your head, listen to your heart and pen it down. You will be surprised to see the output. I do this most of the time.
Some posts are my favorite, like my mother, father, and maternal grandmother. I am grateful to you all for this one because you all were more empathetic than sympathetic. Thank you for giving me the courage to share my stories. There are some worst posts that you all appreciated and thank you for. For example, cockroach in the temple, Tribhanga, etc.
I earned good money from os.me, which helps me in living. I am grateful to os.me team for that and to all those who supported me.
Writing every day made me a better writer. Thanks to the free writing workshops with Medha Sri, ma’am. We all participants learned a lot and I too. If you get a chance please do attend, that workshop will open that page of your diary that you don’t know exists.
I cannot thank you enough, founder, of os.me Om swami ji, who made everything possible. Thank you for supporting me when I started. You are the reason I am here today. You must be proud today. Thank you so much swami ji. You know everything…
I will keep writing every Sunday, and you keep motivating me. Thank you so much everyone, for all your kind words.
Let’s celebrate our small victories so that we can create bigger ones…
Keep smiling,
Thank you,
Riya Om
