Thrive

Its because I no longer read
as much as I once did
I know little of what goes on
in the world
some knowledge is lost
some wisdom gained
the sum total although
maybe just the same

I once heard Maya Angelou
she had the most beautifully poignant
things to say
her life like a few others
absolutely fascinated me
what a vibrant world we live in
here greatness dwells in humble corners
in shadows as in light

In the swift current of life
in its thick fluid fold
where the mind so often drowns
there flows alongside
a blue sky of inspiration
be it the great minds of
thinkers poets
or our plain-spoken Guru

In the simple sway of a day
a long lazy Sunday
I see life thriving
bursting at the seams
goodness spilling like water
our souls finding peace
oh the triumphs of human consciousness
never cease to amaze
