A million thoughts,
A million tendencies,
A million habits,
A million emotions.

Oh, I wanna grow spiritually,
For the benefits many,
For shedding the beliefs,
For shedding the past,
For shedding the old me.

And as a spiritual fancy,
I held the path ahead,
Reading books,
Believing theories,
Following gurus,
And thus deceiving myself,
And others, of growing spiritually.

But change came none,
As without hitting the water can learn swimming one?

Where words fell short,
Where theories didn’t work,
Where company failed,
There I jumped,
On the ocean of practice.

And as a spiritual seeker,
The path held me ahead,
Meditating,
Meditating,
And meditating more,
And thus realized benefits I,
And others, of growing spiritually.

P.S: Thank you and deep gratitude for reading my poem. It’s a newly discovered talent in me, maybe not rhyming and good enough, but I found poetry is the best medium to express our emotions. And that’s the reason I started writing them, it frees up my mind, relaxes me, and the creative expression is deeply fulfilling. I mostly write with my feelings and experience, and not to fill the word limit, so have to include these lines in every poem as they are shorter than one one-fifty words to publish.
