“Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.”
― Søren Kierkegaard
Ok, it’s not easy. I am telling you all, with my own experience. I hear this advice most of the time that past is dead, move on. You have the present, make it beautiful, and so on. But, how many of us actually make this possible. We all live in the past most of the time, almost, all the time.
Whenever we try to stay in present and really try hard to keep ourselves happy, suddenly, there is a knock on the door of our brain, hey, it’s me, your past. Then each one of us handles this guest, in our own way. Sometimes, we laugh with our past, other times we cry with our unwelcomed guest. I think, we should carry more happy memories instead of carrying sad baggage, so that, we can actually laugh on them instead of regretting and crying. But how is that even possible? We are so busy creating mess in our own life and in the life of others, as well. We can at least do one thing and that is we can be realistic. I am not asking us to forget our past and all. Just try to keep ourselves busy, as much as we can. This helps in ignoring unnecessary emotions
When something bothers me like hell, I sleep. Last Sunday I was in the bed, almost for the whole day and I might be repeating the same, this Sunday too. But that does not mean I am in depression or something. I just need a break from all that happens around me. Instead of pleasing others, I shall try to please myself. Oh, these are my words; I need to re-read my own write up many times. Easy way of tackling with our past is only when we keep ourselves occupied. Do whatever one loves to do. When we sit free our unwelcomed guest approaches us, so don’t let our mind know that we are sitting free. It takes time and courage. But we need to let things go. We cannot keep punishing us, all the time. If someone else is bothering us then it is best to talk to that person, if possible. Do whatever helps, laugh, cry, keep one busy, and so on.
It’s ok to feel low for some time, but not all the time.
Keep smiling,
Thank you,
