Vashistha Was Saved by Mother Divine

My koti pranaam to the sages and rishis. My pranaam to Guru ji.. Today we finished the 15th  yagyan and reached at 16 th day japa. I am sorry because i could not able to write today’s story in the morning.  As I was  busy other way and also slept.  So after finishing today’s japa I sat now to write.  Swamiji , our beloved Master ,told a beautiful story which was related to Brahma ji who invoked todays 15th and also tomorrow ‘s 16th mantra.  How Brahma ji came in to picture and how he had to invoke mother divine  , today’s story is based on this. All of us heard Him . I am only trying to give an effort and write the story told by our Pujya Guru.  So , it happened that Brahma though the creation was made and designed by him ,he did not take interest in it . Somehow he maintained distance and did not want to be involved.  Brahma had many sons. He created sons from his mind .Devarshi Narada was one of them. Sage Vashistha was also one of them.  Vashistha carried away by water but was saved by Mother Divine.  That is why She is called Annapagaminim. So the story goes by this. Vashistha and Vishwamitra had great rivalry with each other.  Vashistha was an extraordinary sage . He was extremely knowledgeable but also he was very much devoted to his family. He deeply loved his sons and his wife.He was a complete family man. Around the same time Vishwamitra tried to compete with Vashistha.  He was envy of Vashistha and had tremendous ego.Things between Vashistha and Vishwamitra did not go well. When Vishwamitra tried to take kamdhenu from Vashistha,  Vashistha in rage killed all his army. Vishwamitra did not accept his defeat and made a plan. He gathered some local tribes who were also cannibals. He ordered them   to Vashistha ‘s ashram in his absence and destroy his ashram and also to kill all his sons and every one . Vedas don’t mention that Vishwamitra actually did that but according to Rigveda there was a fight between tribes as Vashistha replaced Vishwamitra to become a kul purohit to some tribes.

              So when Vashistha was away the tribes reached his hut and destroyed everything.  They killed all his sons and also devoured them.Everything was ruined.When Vashistha came ,he was  just devastated.  He was mad and distraught.  Why should I live now? I lost all my near  and dear ones. I can not live without them. So He decided to kill himself by drowning in water. He tied a big stone in his feet and jumped into water. Swamiji describes very beautifully.. why Vashistha, who is so talented and full of knowledge could not choose the easy way to die? He was a great tapaswi. By yogic power he could just give away his body. 

 KRISHNA SAYS TO ARJUN…

O.. KAUNTEYA IN THE END A YOGI CAN FIRMLY ESTABLISH HIS LIFE FORCE BETWEEN HIS BROWS AND GIVE UP HIS OR HER BODY. 

Now there might be two reasons why Vashistha did not choose the later. First is Vashistha didn’t want the tribes to take his dead body after death so that they could devour his body also. By intense sadhna and tapasya his body was also extremely energetic.  So Vashistha did not want that to happen. And secondly  Vashistha might caught in delusion of emotion an d Maya. It doesn’t matter  how much Awakened we are , ultimately if we are attached to something, we can not shift our consciousness. We can not use our yogic power to do anything.

              Now Brahma got this news that Vashistha is carried away by water and he could not be found out.He was more devastated.How can a wise sage like Vashistha can decide something foolish? Brahma was heartbroken and went to Vishnu. Please help me finding my son. .Brahma,  I wish you could take some more work load in the creation. But you were completely detached. You are always unavailable that is why you are so disappointed and disturbed. My own creation, Kardam and Chiklit has already predicted this. But your son is saved by Mother Divine, by Annapagaminim. Then where is he? Asked Brahma. What is there in his future? Vishnu replied I can only  adopt future after giving  a boon and for that you have to call Mother Goddess. You have to invoke her and have her energy. You have to invoke the 15th verse and complete the sonic form of Goddess you have to also invoke the 16th verse.Then she will bless Vashistha.

                   Brahma went to Vashistha where he was residing and requested him to go back to his ashram.  Please honor vishnu’s words and go back to ashram. You have a reason to live for. Vashistha came to his ashram. Nothing was there but he saw smoke coming from a certain point and he could hear veda vaani. He rushed to that spot and found an woman. The woman was his daughter in law;his sons Shakti ‘s wife  Drishyanti. You are alive? Vashistha said. Yes father and also I am carring your sons child in my womb.It is my child who is singing veda from the womb. Vashistha realized why Vishnu said him to wait. What was his purpose for living. That child was non other than Muni Parashara.  And we all know how vyasa was born.
