For the first time ever, more people die from eating too much than from eating too little; more people die from old age than from infectious diseases, and more people commit suicide than are killed by soldiers, terrorists and criminals put together.

Now that I have read “21 lessons for the 21st century” by Yuval Noah Harari to this book I really want to give my hands upon and don’t want to miss my chance on it.

After reading the 21 lessons for the 21st century, I realized that the futures as it seems through our interpretation and media and movies are far away different from it. Our beliefs from movies depicting robots fighting and taking over humanity and how Artificial Intelligence is taking over the human mind and controlling all human being and all that science fiction genre stuff is actually far-far away from what reality is ought to be.

In Homo Deus, Yuval Noah Harari tells the possibility of man’s progress in various fields of life and debunks many myths roaming around the world as he says in the description of the book that “The average American is a thousand times more likely to die from binging at McDonald’s than from being blown up by Al Qaeda.”

Here is an excerpt from the book’s back cover :

War is obsolete : You are more likely to commit suicide than be killed in conflict

Famine is disappearing : You are more at risk of obesity than starvation

Death is just a technical problem : Equality is out – but immortality is in
