Now I was reading the book “Books I have loved” by Osho and on no.4 of his list comes this book by Richard Bach, Jonathan Livingston Seagull. I went to Goodreads to know about it and the very first line of the book says :

This is a story for people who follow their hearts and make their own rules…people who get special pleasure out of doing something well, even if only for themselves…people who know there’s more to this living than meets the eye: they’ll be right there with Jonathan, flying higher and faster than ever they dreamed.

And yeah, the promise seems good, after reading some of the reviews, I realized that everyone is hating this book. Almost all of the top reviewers were trolling this book but it has got a total of 2,14,000 ratings currently which contains the top 0.1 percent of the books. Now the other part of the description says that this book is the story of no ordinary bird, a bird who has the right to fly and all that stuff.

So, a story where the protagonist is not a human, but a bird. So far I haven’t read any such stuff where the storyline and emotions roam around someone different from a Homo Sapiens. Definitely, I will give it a try to this 2 decades old spiritual classic like Siddhartha and it must have its own reasons to make out on no. 4 in Osho’s best books from his personal collection of more than one-hundred-fifty-thousand books.
