Very recently I was contemplating on my daily routine and realised, on some days, I simply waste my time without doing anything productive. (I hear you, I know I am not alone). 🙂

Now what’s productive for me can be absolutely a waste of time for many. So I am not getting into that.

But my point is that majority of us wake up every morning with no formal plans. Our most precious asset- our time- is unguarded. And the problem is if we do not plan our days, someone else will be.

Further, I feel quite content in life and someone jokingly told me too that,        ” content people are threat to economy”. Damn I don’t want to be a reason for this economic slowdown.😃

But on a serious note, being satisfied with one’s life or current situation does not necessarily mean that a person is lazy. Satisfaction can come from a sense of accomplishment, contentment, or even fulfilment.

People who are satisfied with their lives may still be motivated to work hard and achieve their goals, whether that’s in their personal or professional life. On the other hand, a person who is not satisfied may also be lazy, it depends on the individual and the situation.

When it comes to my life, I understand my responsibilities and have decided to manage my time well. I try to give my best to any job thrown at me by life or even people. But somewhere deep down, now I am beginning to understand the meaning behind my daughter’s favorite line- “What’s the rush?”

In today’s round up on Slice of Life,  I am highlighting posts which give us an insight of utilizing our time and potential wisely to live a life which makes us happy and content.

Insights from os.me

Your Time Is Right Now Have you ever enjoyed the pleasure of doing nothing. That feeling is absolute bliss. We have actually forgotten how to sit in silence and experience nothingness around. Elena, in the simplest form, tells us in this post that we can have any life we want. It depends upon our desires and intent.

Cycling Read Ritu’s journey to know how she overcame her fear of riding two wheeler with the loving support from her daughter, husband and brother. She tells us that we can overcome any challenge provided we have the will and right guidance. The wise words by her brother is my mantra now – ““Ritu, if you do not understand anything and are not able to find a way, JUST STOP, give yourself a PAUSE, let the traffic (read: things/obstacles) clear on its own accord, you will find your way”. By the way I too am scared of cycle.

Anchoring a kite In this beautiful post, Shilpa narrates a childhood memory of flying a kite independently and realized the importance of anchoring. We should learn that it is okay to look for anchors whenever we face challenges in life or need help. Anchoring is not restricting.

Jab jab jo jo hona hai, tab tab so so hota hai Every post by Sundaram Sir is  a life lesson. In this post he mentions that things will happen the way they should and at the time they should, however we should not lose hope.

The Chauffeur Read this post by Sibi to know about an interesting conversation between a rider and a driver and his not so common passion.  I absolutely loved this engaging post.

From the diary of Om Swami

Saying Yes to Life Do not deprive yourself of the joys just because you are not fulfilling certain conditions others have placed on you.” Doesn’t that sound comforting because we are too burdened by the expectation of others. Read this wisdom filled post by Swami ji  to understand the difference between life and death is just that one breath, just one moment. Let’s make the best out of every moment we have.

Inspirational mention

From mud house to world cup  Many of us may be aware that India recently hosted Men’s FIH Hockey World Cup in Odisha. Here is an inspiring story of a young boy Neelam Sanjeep Xess who overcame his struggles and got selected to represent India in this world cup. Neelam initially used to play hockey for time pass. Neelam started playing hockey at a place where there was not even grass on the ground. In the name of goal posts, there was a torn net on both sides of that dusty ground. He had a bamboo stick in the name of a hockey stick. Neelam believes that most people in hockey prefer to play as a forward. Because there are more chances to score goals in this role, he chose the position of defender.

May we all dream big and make the best out of our time on this planet.
