O my darling Bhagwan
forever reclining in the creation’s heart
every thought that flows unto You
is the bearer of untold peace
a place so quiet
where You live
a sky so huge
a sea so deep
the longest night filled with sparkle
a slow descent into sweet oblivion
In this tranquil state
your beautiful form taller than the mountains
wider than the universe
lies still
in a little crook beneath your right ear
between your neck
is where I find myself hiding in
just as You Lord of the creation
rest infinitely
in You I too have a resting place
As a tiny ladybug on a huge Peepul tree
knows she belongs to its bark
I cling to You for eternity
my one prayer to You is this
that while I still live
let not me be lured by
the glittering lights
of pleasures big and small
let your loving thought
be my only pleasure
Now as I grow older I realise
that even if one day goes by
with great joy in the heart
it’s your blessing that makes it so
for a hundred things go wrong in a day
it is You my Lord who sets it straight
thank you my love for lighting this heart
it’s so dark in here
that without your shining love
the sun of happiness would never rise
