This is the second discourse of the six in the Bhaj Govindam series. The verses elucidated in the talk are as follows. Given for your reading pleasure and reference:
7॥ Children are busy playing, and youth, gratifying. The old are busy worrying. No one seems to have time for God. 8॥ Who is your partner or son? In this peculiar world, think over your own source of origin and your real identity. 9॥ Wise company with the noble arouses dispassion and that leads to non-attachment. With non-attachment comes stability and knowledge, and that leads to liberation. 10॥ Infirmity takes away sensual pleasures. A pond ceases to be so without water. Just like a family scrambles with dissipating wealth, the illusory world disappears upon self realization. 11॥ Your friends, youth, wealth and pride — all that boost your ego will be snatched by Death in a jiffy. This world is an illusion, an elaborate construction of non-substance. Aim for the highest goal.
